Reefwatch is a marine life research project based in Thailand

Our funding comes from the Dive School, and the Marine Life Encounter tours we run. Simply put as we learn more about the reefs it will be published to the public. Our aims and goals are as follows.

(1). Intensive and long-term study of the local reefs.

Prime areas of interest are long term damage caused by the tourist and other industries. By video taping and photographing research areas on a  regular basis we can build up a picture of the natural and unnatural damage caused over a number of years.

(2). To publish our findings in a series of local guides, comprehensible to all.

(3). Research into rates of coral and sponge regeneration, to aid in the regrowth of areas damaged by storms, fishing, and other negative  influences.

(4). Promote and increase knowledge of the sea among divers, snorkeler’s and everyone else interested in the underwater world.

(5). To provide this knowledge in a relaxed typically Thai manner.

(6). To ensure you have a great time with us and make lots of new friends in the process.
